To create an efficent, functional, practical, winery building to meet the owners’ immediate and future needs.
- New 5000sq m steel frame building.
- Large span steel portal structure.
- The foundation slab was designed to support tanks of varying capacities.
- Effluent drains were included.
- Exterior canopies plus a specifically designed grape delivery system, to enable easy transfer of grapes from the delivery trucks into the winery.
LHTDesign worked closely with the main contractor Prostructure to provide structural design, fire design and documentation for Building Consent and construction purposes.
Throughout the building project, LHTDesign utilised economic design and documentation methods. The design maximised the use of steel frames and practical and effective detailing was provided to suit construction methods and to obtain the best value for money.
The new complex was completed in time and within budget for the 2008 Vintage despite inclement weather during the construction period, and performed well to meet expectations.
