Provided architectural, structural, insulation, siteworks and fire safety documentation. New 1025sq m building adjacent to the existing 850sq m gymnasium.
A full size netball court with a generous amount of run–off space. A full size basketball court and electronically retractable hoops. Four badminton courts (seven courts in total). Three volleyball courts and one more next door. A top of the line timber sprung floor. An electronic score board and basketball shot clocks. A spacious viewing gallery. Seating area for 164 people. Managed storage area with trolleys, shelves and hanging facilities. A quality sound system with wireless microphone for both gymnasiums, as well as network access. Designed heating and ventilation enhancements.

Facilities in the gymnasium include a sprung timber floor, a mezzanine floor with bleacher seating, with classrooms, weights room, kitchen and offices underneath. Large changing facilities for both staff and participants are alongside

Principal Consultants, $1.2M project cost, 2003 completion

Sports hall set up for basketball, volleyball, badminton, tennis and netball and other sports.
Sprung timber floor.  Bleacher seating for 180 plus space for temporary seating.  Large viewing mezzanine floor.  Sport specific lighting, manually controlled ventilation, radiant heaters, four large lockable store rooms with roller grilles.  Fully serviced 260sq m weights gymnasium.  Large men’s, women’s, and two accessible / family change rooms.  Large kitchen/meeting room.  Access from indoor pool with alternative direct access for large events.  Separate fire cells heat detectors to stadium, alternative solution to pool.  Multi-use area with training room, offices and massage room added to pool.

Sports hall containing four basketball courts in one wing and an international sized oval for roller hockey in the other.  38m clear spans, over 5000sq m hall.  Large two storey amenities block with change rooms, lift, viewing lounge, meeting rooms, admin etc.

Wairoa District Council
Secondary Consultants, $3.2M project cost, 1998 completion.

Two-court indoor stadium with bleacher seating, weights room, multi-use rooms etc on two levels, indoor pool, etc.
LHTDesign civil and structural design.

AHEAD BUILDINGS SCHOOL AND COMMUNITY HALLS

Design of more than 100 school and community halls up to two-court size for Ahead Buildings over 13 years. Halls used for indoor sports, school assemblies, public and community meetings etc.

Principal Consultants, 2001 completion.

Large clear span indoor hall with acoustic ceiling for lawn bowls played on synthetic rinks. Main green of 36m x 36m plus secondary indoor bowls area, amenities etc.

Single court sports hall and amenities plus attached rugby change rooms.

Unique 20 target rifle range purpose built for Delhi Commonwealth Games. First in the world with a single firing point, moving targets, electronic marking and scoring. No danger area range using side and cross range baffle walls. Built on 8Ha compared to normal 150Ha

HAWKE'S BAY RACING CENTRE, HASTINGS

Judges' stand, restaurant and commercial kitchen, three large bars, two lounges, stables and equine pool.

NELSON PARK ALL-WEATHER ATHLETIC TRACK, HASTINGS

Assistance with some aspects of design and specifications and contract administration of both original construction and subsequent synthetic surfacing.

SEDDON FULLBORE RIFLE RANGE

Design and control of earthworks and target numbers to re-construct and upgrade 1000yard (914m) rifle range reserve to be compliant for all 50 targets. Project cost approx $220,000.

PROPOSED ASHBURTON RIFLE RANGE

Design of a “no danger area” 1000 yard rifle range, providing evidence on design and safety issues for Resource Consent hearing.

FULL-BORE RIFLE TARGET CARRIERS

Design of cantilever carriers for long-range (up to 1000 yards) full-bore rifle shooting installed at Trentham, Hastings, Hawera, Bisley (England), Jersey Islands, Adelaide, Perth and Bloemfontein.

TONY LOUGHNAN

NZ representative in fullbore rifle, 1970 to 2011. Captain of the NZ Rifle Tea,s in NZ 1998, 1999, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, South Africa 1998, 1999 (NZ 3rd World Championship 1999) and Brisbane 2009,2010, 2011). Carded athlete under NZ Academy of Sports system 2001 and 2003. Winner National Grand Aggregate 2008.
NRA Councillor for more than 20 years, President 2000 - 2003.
President ICFRA (International Confederation of Fullbore Rifle Associations) 2007-2011. Member of NZ Shooting Federation Legislation Committee. Oceania delegate to Fullbore Committee of the Commonwealth Shooting Federation. NRA Range Certification Officer.
Has been a keen but not very good participant in many other sports including tennis, squash, cricket and rugby.
