To design the structure of a large sports hall and amenity block.

SPORT FACILITIES DESIGN PROJECT OUTLINE

• Sports hall containing four basketball courts in one wing and an international sized oval for roller hockey in the other.
• 38m clear spans, over 5000sq m hall.
• Large two storey amenities block with change rooms, lift, viewing lounge, meeting rooms, admin etc.

LHTDESIGN’S SCOPE OF WORKS
LHTDesign designed all of the building structures for Chapple Architects of Palmerston North.

OUTCOME
The project was completed in 2002 and has provided much needed extra training and club competition space for a variety of sports plus the best roller hockey venue in New Zealand.  It was constructed for less than the original budget even after advantage of the low cost was used to add extra items.
