Aquatic & Sports Facilities
We are the most prolific designers of aquatic centres in New Zealand and have carried out many substantial aquatic projects well in excess of $200million, in 2011 dollars. LHTDesign has been involved in more than 30 other community aquatic projects throughout New Zealand.

Structural Timber Design
Recently recognised as a specialist advisers by NZ Wood for the new Timber Design Centre. LHTDesign has delivered more than a quarter of a million square metres of timber buildings to date. We also have staff with considerable experience from the UK in the design of innovative timber grid shells and diagrids.

Mechanical Services & Energy Efficiency
LHTDesign has extensive knowledge and a proven reputation in the field of professional mechanical engineering, providing optimised solutions for a wide range of commercial, industrial, and specialist heating, ventilation and air conditioning applications.
We are recognised as an industry leader in the design of energy efficient heating and ventilation systems for indoor swimming pools.  Sustainable building practice is inherent within all of our designs.

ETFE & Fabric Structures
LHTDesign has unique in house ability to offer specialist design input to clients wishing to use either the latest transparent cladding system ETFE or tensile fabric.
ETFE provides many cost, aesthetic and thermal advantages over the use of insulated glass with lower embodies energy and able to be 100% recycled.

Building Design
LHTDesign has the proven ability to provide well considered and fully integrated building design, with an emphasis on delivery of cost effective, aesthetic solutions.

Fire Engineering
LHTDesign’s fire engineering team has the experience and expertise to meet the growing need for professional fire engineering, in the design and ongoing management of buildings. 
We offer solutions to large and complex fire safety scenarios, can access specialist fire modelling, and can arrange the design of mechanical smoke extraction systems through a separate sub-consultant.

Large span industrial buildings
We consistently design more economic structures than others in the field.  Up to 70m clear spans in steel and 50m in timber to date.

Food Processing
We have extensive experience of canning plants, meat works, factories, cool storage, effluent disposal, etc.

Wineries
Successful projects including process buildings, barrel stores, racking, tank farms etc for more than 20 wineries in Hawke’s Bay, Wairarapa, Canterbury, Marlborough and Central Otago.

Forestry
Services provided to major sawmills at Lautoka, Kawerau, Napier from treatment bunds, dry stores, kiln facilities, etc and elsewhere.
