To create an aesthetically-pleasing, functional, practical, modern complex to meet the school’s immediate and future needs whilst also being an invaluable asset serving the local community.
- 990 sq m project footprint of which 700sq m is a gymnasium
- Facilities in the gymnasium include a sprung timber floor, a mezzanine floor with bleacher seating, with classrooms, weights room, kitchen and offices underneath. Large changing facilities for both staff and participants are alongside
LHTDesign worked closely with the design-build contractor Ahead Buildings, to provide structural, architectural, insulation design and fire safety documentation for Building Consent purposes.
Throughout the school building project, LHTDesign utilised economic design and documentation methods, maximised the use of timber including Triboard wall panels, and provided practical and effective detailing as directed by Ahead Buildings to suit its construction methods and to obtain the best value for money for the owner.
The new complex has been positively received with good reviews from the Board of Trustees, staff and students alike.
The project was finished within time and cost expectations as a result of the consistent effort put in by the project team (Ahead Buildings, LHTDesign).
