BRIEF
To carry out design, documentation and project management for the construction of a new carpark area.  Stormwater management was to include Rain Gardens and other means of filtering the stormwater prior to discharge into the Council’s system.

CARPARK DESIGN PROJECT OUTLINE

• 35 new carparks
• Incorporate raingardens into stormwater design
• Vehicle crossings, post and chain barrier, garden areas
• Minimal disruption to existing shop owners

LHTDESIGN’S SCOPE OF WORKS
LHTDesign prepared the carpark design and documentation for Building Consent called tenders and provided project management for the contract. In addition LHTDesign investigated the use of raingardens and incorporated these in the design with soakage underneath and overflow into the reticulated stormwater system at times of excessive flows.

OUTCOME
A successful project with the outcome of a smart looking parking area. Raingardens are functioning as designed.
