BRIEF To project manage the construction of a specialist swim training pool designed by LHTDesign within an existing industrial building.
PROJECT OUTLINE The project comprised a five lane 25m graduated across the pool for constant depth lanes plus a learn-to-swim pool with varying depth and seating on all four sides. For a more in-depth design outline click here.
LHTDESIGN’S SCOPE OF WORKS
Co-ordination with Auckland City Council regarding consent application.
Assisting the Mechanical Engineer, John Loughnan with layout and ventilation system design.
Obtaining tenders for sundry items not covered by the building contract e.g. floor coverings, fans, coils, louvres, drainage, gas, hardware, aluminium and timber joinery, etc.
Site visits.
Co-ordination of builders, plumbers, electricians and other subtrades.
Liaison with the client.
Day-to-day problem solving.
Checking and processing progress payments.
General project management duties.
OUTCOME Swimtastic opened on the client’s planned date, and has proved to be an effective and well-received facility.
