Waitaki District Council can be sure that its revamped Oamaru Pool is now state-of-the-art; it has fully completed As-built plans and schematics to prove it.
LHTDesign was called on to bring its expertise to the fore and rectify a number of issues plaguing the pool since its design and build by other parties nine years ago.
Our mechanical engineering team of Scott Roberts and Marc Wessels was instrumental in identifying non-performance issues, and providing solutions to address these; all with a view to ensure ongoing reduced energy consumption.
The $1.5M worth of remedial work was condensed into a four-week closure period in March and April this year, and Council staff are delighted that it’s been smooth sailing since. Oamaru pool users and staff in particular, report a greatly improved environment with vastly improved lighting, acoustics, ventilation and heating.
A significant development for the Council is the trending and fault reporting computer software that interfaces with the Council’s amenities and is run from Council offices. This enables the pool’s building services operations to be controlled and maintained from a central site by qualified personnel.
